Sun = Good, Clouds = Bad, Rain = Worse. These equations, though almost universally accepted, just don't work for me. When I go in to work on Monday morning, people remark about what a wonderful weekend it was if it was sunny and hot, and how bad the weather was if it was cloudy, cool, or rainy. Well, I'm just the opposite. As I sit there at work, trapped in my cubicle, I occasionally take a peek out the (much too far away) window. If I see clouds and rain, it cheers me up!

I like clouds, rain, cool weather, and snow. Yes, you heard me right. No, I haven't lost my mind, in spite of the domain name I chose for my website.

Clouds are our friends! Here's why:

• They shelter us from the intense heat, light, and harmful radiation of the sun

• They provide an insulating layer in the winter, like a blanket

• They bring us rain and snow, necessary for our water supply, power generation, and recreation

• They're beautiful!

Think about it. We've been conditioned from birth to believe sun = good and rain = bad. Clouds and rain are good, too! In fact, I like them better than sunshine!
